Mixing Engineer: Heavy and Dynamic Styles

This is a class geared primarily towards Intermediate Producers and Mixing Engineer's who mixes lack the punch and power of professional mixes. In this class, the instructor will be utilizing Pro Tools, which is the industry standard DAW for professional mixes (if you don't have Pro Tools, that's not a problem. Skills learned here are transferrable to other DAW's). We will be looking primarily into the genres of Metal, Death Metal, Rap, and Hip-Hop (Heavy and Dynamic). Within these genres will examine closely the common issues with them, and how to diagnose, then we will examine practical ways to solve those issues. Anything from, masking, phase, mud, sibilants, side-chaining, parallel compression, and more. We will up your level of understanding, and help your mixes look and sound like the pro's. And that punch and power you were looking for will be in all of your mixes.
